Emily Walsh Lopes, MD, MPH

​

Dr. Emily Walsh Lopes is a Physician Investigator in the CTEU, a gastroenterologist specializing in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at MGH, and an Instructor of Medicine at HMS. Her research interests include understanding how dietary, lifestyle, and genetic factors influence the development and course of inflammatory bowel disease as well as methods for studying disease prevention in IBD. Her research has been funded by the American College of Gastroenterology. 


Dr. Lopes earned her MD from New York University School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency, chief residency, general gastroenterology fellowship, and advanced IBD fellowship at MGH. She completed her MPH in Clinical Effectiveness at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
